WORKSHOPS, RETREATS AND OTHER VISITORS

Over the last months varied and interesting groups have used Fynbos for workshops and retreats. And there have been numerous other visitors here on getaways or day visits.  Here are some pics and comments.

Thanks for such a wonderful 3-days at your farm last week. It was so easy for us to write when so well fed and in such a relaxed and beautiful space. It really was the perfect venue for our writing retreat, and we'll definitely remember it for future.
Thanks too, Johan, for the all the conversations about Dragonridge wines, and for showing us around your cellar. I still have that Sticky Chenin on my mind.

Fynbos is perfect for us whether welcome as a local or international group - which is why we keep returning.

Fynbos provides the most sublime context in which to practice meditation and mindfulness. The gorgeous natural surround has a magical quality to it that encourages the true sense of home. The wonderful hosts, Diana and Johan, and their respectful and generous staff provide the care, safety and containment needed for the practice. A great bonus is the delicious vegetarian meals served on our retreat that truly nourish and support the practice. It is a space that gets under my skin and that my body longs for each year.

It was a perfect retreat in every way, with a lot packed in... but somehow spacious... intense but delightful?
I mean, great wine, awesome food, great venue. Yet it is true that great times are usually people related, so it is the energy of the great hosts and great people attending that makes these type of events wonderful......
A reminder that even when the tough in us have to get going, there is no greater skill
than releasing into stillness. It is always in the "going within", as a first step, and a last refuge, and everywhere inbetween, where are guaranteed to find peace.

It was great to share the weekend with all of you in that lovely farmhouse. In just two days we managed to do some really heart-core physical, emotional and spiritual stretching. And now we are back in the working world, perhaps feeling a bit challenged by things, but perhaps also knowing that something has shifted in us and that positive change is happening.

A very big thank you from my side for a most peaceful and restorative retreat at your beautiful Estate!
The venue was gorgeous, the food absolutely delicious and the wine was fabulous! (in my humble non-connoisseur opinion hehe) :-)
Thank you for hosting us, it was really lovely to have met you both and spend this all too soon ended weekend with you all.

What an absolute pleasure to be able to get away and not only to stay in a beautiful, comfortable setting, but also to be able to have our beloved dogs with us. We stayed in a comfortable, well-equipped cottage surrounded by beautiful mountains and farmlands. The enclosed garden around our cottage meant that our dogs could play and relax safely in their own space and that we had privacy. The Fynbos team, Johan, Diana and Gail were friendly, welcoming and approachable. Highlights of the stay included a walk around the farm and meeting all the adopted and rescued farm animals, swimming in the salt water pool with views for miles and wine tasting with owner (and wine maker) Johan. If you enjoy an animal-loving, shabby-chic lifestyle then I would highly recommend Fynbos Estate!

We had a fabulous weekend in your beautiful place! Wow!  What a stunning place and beautiful location. The stoep – my absolute favourite.

This is the second time we have been here with our show dogs (Irish Wolfhounds) who did very well. We really like Fynbos and will return.

This is the third time I have been to Fynbos for different things. This time I came with friends for the weekend and stayed in Honey Badger. We love that house and always leave Fynbos rejuvenated.

After visiting Cape Town and the Wine region, we spent 5 days at Fynbos Estate, because of a recommendation from South African friends. What we found there was more than we expected. It is a truly magical place with brings together a feeling of true nature and professional and sincere hospitality. The accommodation is comfortable and the working farm is beautifully arranged and has different magical places like the gardens, the chapel and the vineyards. It is great value for the money! Johan and Diana Simons, the hosts, know how to make this place to a special and memorable venue, we enjoyed to meet them and they were open for all the questions we had. It is the perfect place to get married or to spend a retreat. We left the farm relaxed and full of energy for the next adventures and hope to be back one.

In May, I travelled to Cape Town and chose to stay a week at Fynbos Estate because of the gorgeous pictures and descriptions on their website. I was not disappointed at all! The wine was delicious and the accommodations were comfortable, rustic, and stylish. Even in winter, the farm looked bustling and beautiful. It was an amazing experience being surrounded by mountains and the breathtaking setting, which encouraged me to take a good break from technology. I felt so peaceful and lucky to have been in such a gorgeous environment. Very different from Toronto!
I have recommended Fynbos Estate to my friends travelling from abroad and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

A visit to this beautiful little gem nestled in a valley and tucked away on the foot of a mountain. Takes you to a place far removed from the busy highways and smoggy skylines.  A Big spacious country house set amongst vineyards , sprawling  hills and breathtaking scenery.  It has a earthy crunchy granola charm, an electric mix of art and comfort. A walk around the grounds revealed a well manicured garden with secret hideaways, a lovely salt water pool with a view that I could hardly pull myself away from. Not to mention the enchanting wedding venue, a charming restaurant and as if that wasn't enough, they even have a boutique winery that is well with a visit. The owners and staff were warm and friendly. In short great place, amazing food - I will be visiting again soon
