SWARTLAND INDEPENDENT PRODUCERS ( SIP) RAISES THE PROFILE OF SWARTLAND WINES.

Two weekends ago Short Street in Riebeeck Kasteel was abuzz with crowds of wine lovers tasting SIP wines from over 20 member wineries. This followed a rather grand dinner the night before attended by local and international guests and wine fundis.

These annual events showcase the Swartland Revolution, which celebrates and promotes the Swartland as a special wine region, and the wines have proved so excellent and the SIP founders so successful at marketing, that the Swartland has been put on the wine map worldwide.  Hugh Johnson, the famous wine writer, has gone so far as to include the Swartland in the top 14 wine regions of the world.

As featured more fully in a previous post, SIP make natural wines with mostly Rhone cultivars,
Here are some pics of Johan and UK volunteer Chloe presenting our  SIP wines at the Short Street tasting. It was lots of fun and we were delighted by the positive feedback from tasters.
