Although only a few days old, the news has sparked a tremendous amount of excitement amongst conservationists, biologists and nature lovers – not to mention in habitants of the Paardeberg like ourselves.
It has also fuelled interest in the mammal mapping project run by Dr. Tali Hoffman http://MammalMAP.adu.org.za
You may remember that Tali put up a camera trap here on the farm some months ago, and in just a few hours, a Cape Fox and Porcupine were photographed. As a consequence we have begun raising funds for a camera of our own to map mammals on our small part of the Paardeberg. More on this in a later post.
